there were a million possible titles for this blog, but Scott's my favorite character so i'll use one that refers to him.

WE WATCHED STAR TREK TODAY. i think i am now officially a Trekkie (as if i wasn't nerdy enough, damn). it was beautiful. made friends with Kirk, Spock, Aurora or whatever her name is, Pike, Nero, and SCOTTTTT! hella dope sci-fi movie, me Rhea and Munir were hella excited the whole time. we kept going, "This movie is BRILLIANT!" i thought i wasn't going to like it because it was gonna be too confusing, or because, well, it was freaking Star Trek, but, ha! how very wrong i was.

points of interest:

-you could probably subtitle the movie "The Adventures of Danilo and Hung." i swear, Danilo and Hung remind me SO MUCH of Kirk and Spock, it's not even funny. (i don't mean this offensively, if either of you ever read this.) first off, Danilo and Kirk are both totally exuberant, outgoing fellers who like slapping others on the back, while Hung and Spock are rather stoic, intellectual Kirk-foils who purposely use big words in their sentences. XD

-so i'm gonna go to school Tuesday and make Hung-Spock do the 'live long and prosper' thing again. I GET IT NOW! i always thought it was something dorky Trekkies do, but when they did it in the movie, it was so poignant and touching. i'm gonna start doing that to people. it's beautiful.

-i like Scott and his Scottish accent, and his 'beaming.' there was this one part where Kirk and Spock have been beamed up to the ship after rescuing a hostage, and while everyone was congratulating them, Scott's all like, "HEY! What about me?! I've never beamed three people at once before! THAT WAS BRILLIANT!!!" brilliant indeed, Scotty. brilliant indeed.

-the Russian pilot kid was hella cute - not the cute guy cute, but the 'aww how precious' cute. i don't even know his name. he's just 'the Russian guy.' on a side note, Zachary Quinto IS cute guy cute.......when he's not Spock, that is.

-there were hella Asians in the movie. dope. and Harold from Harold and Kumar was there too. HAHAHAHA.

-and, this is for Munir: Spock + Uhura is WAY cuter than Kirk + Uhura. but i'm kinda wondering how Spock ever asked her out (they're like together in the movie), because he isn't supposed to have feelings. i guess Kligons or however you spell them just have to be emotionally constipated. XD [edit: oh, fuck. Spock's a Vulcan, not a Klignon. well, that shows how much i know about Star Trek...]
