25 random facts about me, part I.

technically, you're only supposed to do this if somebody has done it before and then 'tags' you on your own blog. but, ha! i don't listen to unwritten rules. and i like talking about myself. >:D besides, who cares?

1. i was born in Manilla, but i'm an American citizen by birth 'cause my dad had been in the US Navy at the time. whoo, military perks. does this mean i can run for president? muahaha.

2. i can't speak Tagalog for crap. when i try, i have this ghastly American accent and i just sound like an idiot. sometimes i wish my parents were like Joy Luck Club parents, and forced me to speak Tagalog at home.

3. i'm left-handed, which means i'm right-brained, which explains why i'm so bad at math. but, but, da Vinci was left-handed and he was hella good at math. wtf is this shit.

4. you know what grinds my gears? child prodigies. especially self-righteous, presumptuous child prodigies. and you know that story they tell kids about Einstein being bad at math when he was young? BULLSHIT, he taught himself calculus when he was 12. the story is a myth to make underachieving kids think that they can be as smart as him when they grow up. THANKS FOR NOTHING, EINSTEIN. motherfucker.

5. do you notice all my swearing? the only two places i swear are on the internet, and in my head. =]

6.

i hate Twilight. and not just 'cause everybody else loves it. like, i WANTED to read Twilight. i saw an article about it in Time that said it was the next Harry Potter. so i read it. and it was a poorly written book. (sparkly vampires are the least of this book's problems, seriously) so i didn't like it. and all those teenage girls saying it's like THE BEST BOOK EVAR are silly, and need to read more books. speaking of teenagers....

7. i think most of them have horrible taste in everything (but not you, of course, because you're reading this, which means that you have IMPECCABLE taste). man, i'm just bitter. bitter bitter bitter. i'm like that little old lady sitting on her front porch in a rocking chair, petting her cat, and cradling a shotgun. damn kids these days needa GET OFF MAH LAWN! :P

8. i really, really like those classic, old-school movies from the 40's, 50's, and 60's. maaan, they don't make 'em like they used to. :(

9. i have a brown fedora named Rick, and a grey one named Henry. they are both named after famous fictional characters who wore similar hats. Rick is named after Rick Astley Blaine, Humphrey Bogart's badass character in Casablanca. (which i still haven't watched! DX) Henry is a reference to Henry Higgins, the witty linguistics professor from My Fair Lady (he's kinda like a male Ms. Hill, HAHA), also known as the guy who inspired the creation of Stewie Griffin. i'm so serious. look it up.

'tis Rick.

10. i disagree with all the media people right now who are hailing Michael Jackson as the greatest pop singer ever. i still think it's Frank Sinatra. lol. don't mess with The Chairman of the Board, Jacko. his fedora beats your one glove.

11. i've never gotten my ears pierced, nor do i plan to. and i'm probably never gonna get a tatoo, smoke anything, pop anything, get drunk, etc. etc. etc. basically, i'm gonna be boring.

12. i like history. i think it's interesting. which sucks because all the history teachers i've ever had were all horribly incompetent, and i remain convinced that i could have taught the class better than they did. (not because i'm any good, but that's just how bad they were/are) eff the Humanities four-year commitment. HAHA.

13. i like Start Trek. well, some of it. i've watched most of the Original Series episodes, and it's so CUTE. like a freaking sitcom in space. okay, yeah, the special effects suck, they sometimes talk too much, Shatner can't act for shit, but still....it's cute. one of my favorite moments is in the fourth Star Trek movie, where Chekov is like running around the streets of San Francisco, asking random people where he can find "Nuclear wessels." wessels! tell me that's not cute.

yes, it had whales.
