i just followed myself on blogspot.

WHAT A WIN.

actually, it happened on accident. i was trying to follow Samantha M (the other one), right, and i clicked the thing that said 'follow' in the box or whatever, and ended up following myself. oh well. i'm pretty darn cool, i think.

OKAY I'M FINNA BE BACK ON BLOGSPOT

you know how people use Tumblr for posting...like, everything? like it's Twitter, but longer? and then Blogspot is for "serious" posts?

well i'm finna do that right here. if something is hella long (but too profound to go unsaid, lol), i'll put it up here, or else it would probably get buried under all the shit i post to Tumblr daily. it'll usually have something to do with movie analysis. lol. just warning you guys.

aiiight. it's like midnight. i look forward to posting here again. very good, very good.

"That's one more than Hitler!"

posted this on Tumblr, but it's so funny i want to post it again. Ricky Gervais is so freaking hilarious. it must be cause he's British. i wish i had HBO. :(

btw, this is Brad Pitt:

and this is Trevor McDonald:

25 random facts about me, part I.

technically, you're only supposed to do this if somebody has done it before and then 'tags' you on your own blog. but, ha! i don't listen to unwritten rules. and i like talking about myself. >:D besides, who cares?

1. i was born in Manilla, but i'm an American citizen by birth 'cause my dad had been in the US Navy at the time. whoo, military perks. does this mean i can run for president? muahaha.

2. i can't speak Tagalog for crap. when i try, i have this ghastly American accent and i just sound like an idiot. sometimes i wish my parents were like Joy Luck Club parents, and forced me to speak Tagalog at home.

3. i'm left-handed, which means i'm right-brained, which explains why i'm so bad at math. but, but, da Vinci was left-handed and he was hella good at math. wtf is this shit.

4. you know what grinds my gears? child prodigies. especially self-righteous, presumptuous child prodigies. and you know that story they tell kids about Einstein being bad at math when he was young? BULLSHIT, he taught himself calculus when he was 12. the story is a myth to make underachieving kids think that they can be as smart as him when they grow up. THANKS FOR NOTHING, EINSTEIN. motherfucker.

5. do you notice all my swearing? the only two places i swear are on the internet, and in my head. =]

6.

i hate Twilight. and not just 'cause everybody else loves it. like, i WANTED to read Twilight. i saw an article about it in Time that said it was the next Harry Potter. so i read it. and it was a poorly written book. (sparkly vampires are the least of this book's problems, seriously) so i didn't like it. and all those teenage girls saying it's like THE BEST BOOK EVAR are silly, and need to read more books. speaking of teenagers....

7. i think most of them have horrible taste in everything (but not you, of course, because you're reading this, which means that you have IMPECCABLE taste). man, i'm just bitter. bitter bitter bitter. i'm like that little old lady sitting on her front porch in a rocking chair, petting her cat, and cradling a shotgun. damn kids these days needa GET OFF MAH LAWN! :P

8. i really, really like those classic, old-school movies from the 40's, 50's, and 60's. maaan, they don't make 'em like they used to. :(

9. i have a brown fedora named Rick, and a grey one named Henry. they are both named after famous fictional characters who wore similar hats. Rick is named after Rick Astley Blaine, Humphrey Bogart's badass character in Casablanca. (which i still haven't watched! DX) Henry is a reference to Henry Higgins, the witty linguistics professor from My Fair Lady (he's kinda like a male Ms. Hill, HAHA), also known as the guy who inspired the creation of Stewie Griffin. i'm so serious. look it up.

'tis Rick.

10. i disagree with all the media people right now who are hailing Michael Jackson as the greatest pop singer ever. i still think it's Frank Sinatra. lol. don't mess with The Chairman of the Board, Jacko. his fedora beats your one glove.

11. i've never gotten my ears pierced, nor do i plan to. and i'm probably never gonna get a tatoo, smoke anything, pop anything, get drunk, etc. etc. etc. basically, i'm gonna be boring.

12. i like history. i think it's interesting. which sucks because all the history teachers i've ever had were all horribly incompetent, and i remain convinced that i could have taught the class better than they did. (not because i'm any good, but that's just how bad they were/are) eff the Humanities four-year commitment. HAHA.

13. i like Start Trek. well, some of it. i've watched most of the Original Series episodes, and it's so CUTE. like a freaking sitcom in space. okay, yeah, the special effects suck, they sometimes talk too much, Shatner can't act for shit, but still....it's cute. one of my favorite moments is in the fourth Star Trek movie, where Chekov is like running around the streets of San Francisco, asking random people where he can find "Nuclear wessels." wessels! tell me that's not cute.

yes, it had whales.

summer project shhhedule.

you ever notice how people sometimes pronounce it as 'sheh-jule' instead of 'ske-jule'? (like Mr. Garrison? lol) i think that's stupid. well, anyways, here is what i'm planning to do for the remainder of the summer:

6/30 - 7/6: Bio AP notes. concert at DK on the 2nd. wanna go? GO!

7/7-7/11: Humanities essay #1, the one that's "only" five pages. i think my topic is the Civil War. yeah, i don't remember.

7/12-7/19: notes on The Crucible for English AP.

7/20-7/25: Humanities essay #2, AKA the hella long one. on the Spanish American War. oh yeah.

7/26-7/29: English essay on whatever she told us to do.

7/30-the day we go back to school: NOTHING! AHAHAHAHA!

i'd like to get a job at DK somewhere during the summer. if only they would call me! DX
oh yeah, i watched Transformers 2 yesterday. i thought it was pretty good, action-packed entertainment that summer blockbusters are made of. i like how all the Transformers are British, because British people are epic. (i still think Star Trek was better, though. muahahah.)

desktop screenshot, lalalala.

totally stole this idea from Elaine. this is what my desktop looks like. a little insight into my brilliant mind....sike. o_o

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

yes, i know, my wallpaper's awesome. [but no McCoy! whaaat. >:O]

....i need to get a life. :P

Friday, June 19, 2009

you know, those flying monkeys are actually kinda cute...

so yesterday, i went and watched this.

Wicked was wicked, and i can see why Garrison says plays are better than movies. it's cause they are. especially if you're in the literal front row - so close, that if you stuck your foot out you'd kick the conductor in his back, so close that you can see the performers' spit coming out of their mouths when they sing.

not exactly like that, but you get the picture.

yep, it's a great experience. so if anyone actually reads this, get offa your computer and go watch a Broadway play.

observations:

- Nessa, or the Wicked Witch of the East has some nice socks. i've never appreciated those socks whilst watching the old movie.

-dude, Elphaba was freaking miserable throughout the whole play. she was like never happy. not once. ever.

"gimme mah sister's shoes, BITCH."

- THE WIZARD IS ELPHABA'S FATHER!!!!! OH MAN. finna get Maury up in here to do some DNA testing. i'm never gonna see The Wizard of Oz the same way again... oh, i hope i didn't spoil anything for any of you.

- i was actually in the presence of a real live famous person, Patty Duke! OH MY GOD Patty, i saw you as Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker! upon seeing her, i almost called out, "HOLY FRICK IT'S THE BLIND GIRL!" with all due respect of course.

She's a bit older now.

- okay, MVP of the play was the conductor man. i don't even know his name and i'm kinda mad! i wonder where my Playbill went....well, he's tall, skinny, bald, wears glasses. ANYONE KNOW SOME BROADWAY CONDUCTORS WHO FIT THIS DESCRIPTION? (hella of them, i'm sure) because dude, lemme tell you. he's apparently memorized every single line of dialog/song lyric in the whole play. while conducting, he would sing along to the songs. when not conducting he would mouth off the lines. i honestly believe that this man could do the whole freaking play, BY HIMSELF. i mean, he knows everybody's part!

why does he even have a score in front of him? EPIC CONDUCTOR MAN NEEDS NO SCORE!

he's even more epic than this man.

so yeah, that just made my day. :DDDDDD

excerpts from a myspace survey.

i don't want to, uh, toot my own horn, but i'm just so funny sometimes. ha ha ha! j/k.

"52. What was the stupidest thing you've done? i tried licking my elbow <-- HAHA OMG me too<-- probably me too. Haha. <-- OH MAN IT'S A CHAIN OF ARROWS! muahaha."

btw, if licking your elbow is the stupidest thing you've EVER done.....go deface public property or something. XD

graduation invites uncomfortable yet necessary thoughts about the future.

goodbye seniors. it was fun. thanks. i didn't even get to hug most of you. i didn't get to see Deidre, Sallancy, or Christine get their fishies - that we all helped pay for, btw. nevertheless, i'm happy for them. i hope all of you guys win at life.

oh, and i successfully passed the Sophomore Symphony Note to Mr. Oscar. i love Oscar. he's hilarious. and adorable. :D

on another note, depature of the seniors raises inevitable questions concerning the future our little band. new drum major, new section leaders, etc. so, who's going to step it up next year? who's going to be recognized as a crucial part of this organization...and deserve it? who's actually going to work for something - perhaps the only thing - that's worth the effort in their sad little conformist lives?

i am. the end. call me an ambitious attention whore, but i hate being overlooked by those i admire. it's a tragic flaw, lol.

"it's only hubris if i fail." <---my life motto, forever. Rome has the best quotes.
btw, i'd rather be a Julius Caesar than a Brutus any day. why am i always talking about Julius Caesar on this blog?

last Friday of the year. :DDDDD

English: rapid fire review. it was hella fun, i love this. haha. i hope i'm winning. XD got an A on my binder! muahahaha.

Yazz: did Pomp, the most boring song that ever exsisted. bleck. i'll be glad when i'm a senior and won't have to play it anymore.

Humanities: said goodbye to our stupid Arts and Ideas book. discussed with Rhea, Jeycy, and Munir about Munir's talk show hosting career in the future.

so, like, you know how the company that produces Oprah's show is called Harpo Productions? well, Harpo is Oprah backward, and we tried to follow the same pattern with Munir. his last name's Karajah, so that would be Hajarak. and Munir said that 'hajah' means 'rock,' and 'rak' from Hajarak sounds like 'rock,' so his future company is going to be called Rock Squared. HAHA.

Math: got out of class so the band could play for the office lady who's retiring. muahaha, again.

Science: presented the skeletal project system. Elaine's 'model' was the best thing EVER, she officially wins the Trooper Award, because she's a trooper. Ms. Marte gave us a 98 on our presentation, though, because we didn't memorize it. MAAAN, Ms. Marte! we hella got those 'types of joints' questions right, and that wasn't even on our powerpoint. ah, whatever.

Filipino: took the final. bleck.

then came the Link Crew meeting. while everyone was playing games, me and Mariella were stressing about how to get our Hill binders, and i was stressing over how to get all my band crap out of the band room. but it all turned out well.

tomorrow is Pista. i'm gonna go and play this new online RPG thing i found called Fly For Fun. (fly for fun my ass, though, you don't get to fly until you're like level 20! ><) if you play it....i dunno, find me or something. character name = spockity. server = Clockworks 1-8, or something like that.

i hate wood, guillotines, A Tale of Two Cities, and Charles Dickens - [The Making of 'Steven.']

i spent this weekend making a guillotine. in my spare time, i watched Star Trek reruns.

WHAT A LOSER. I AM A LOSER. DX

[btw, the guillotine was for Ms. Hill's class; it's not like i do this for fun, okay? ...except for the Star Trek part. dunno what that's about.]
whatever, my guillotine works, so i'm happy. THANK YOU STEVEN! couldn't have done this without you, hahahaha.

i'm so tired. i'll edit this blog tomorrow when i have pictures. oh, and it's Pentecost Sunday, so happy birthday Christianity. sure, you've made some silly decisions over the years, but who hasn't?

Friday, May 22, 2009

Beam me up, Scotty. Beam me up.

from L to R: Russian guy, Danilo, SCOTTTT!, 'Orson' (i swear, hella people look like him), Asian guy, and Uhura. i hella don't know her first name. XD

there were a million possible titles for this blog, but Scott's my favorite character so i'll use one that refers to him.

WE WATCHED STAR TREK TODAY. i think i am now officially a Trekkie (as if i wasn't nerdy enough, damn). it was beautiful. made friends with Kirk, Spock, Aurora or whatever her name is, Pike, Nero, and SCOTTTTT! hella dope sci-fi movie, me Rhea and Munir were hella excited the whole time. we kept going, "This movie is BRILLIANT!" i thought i wasn't going to like it because it was gonna be too confusing, or because, well, it was freaking Star Trek, but, ha! how very wrong i was.

points of interest:

-you could probably subtitle the movie "The Adventures of Danilo and Hung." i swear, Danilo and Hung remind me SO MUCH of Kirk and Spock, it's not even funny. (i don't mean this offensively, if either of you ever read this.) first off, Danilo and Kirk are both totally exuberant, outgoing fellers who like slapping others on the back, while Hung and Spock are rather stoic, intellectual Kirk-foils who purposely use big words in their sentences. XD

-so i'm gonna go to school Tuesday and make Hung-Spock do the 'live long and prosper' thing again. I GET IT NOW! i always thought it was something dorky Trekkies do, but when they did it in the movie, it was so poignant and touching. i'm gonna start doing that to people. it's beautiful.

-i like Scott and his Scottish accent, and his 'beaming.' there was this one part where Kirk and Spock have been beamed up to the ship after rescuing a hostage, and while everyone was congratulating them, Scott's all like, "HEY! What about me?! I've never beamed three people at once before! THAT WAS BRILLIANT!!!" brilliant indeed, Scotty. brilliant indeed.

-the Russian pilot kid was hella cute - not the cute guy cute, but the 'aww how precious' cute. i don't even know his name. he's just 'the Russian guy.' on a side note, Zachary Quinto IS cute guy cute.......when he's not Spock, that is.

-there were hella Asians in the movie. dope. and Harold from Harold and Kumar was there too. HAHAHAHA.

-and, this is for Munir: Spock + Uhura is WAY cuter than Kirk + Uhura. but i'm kinda wondering how Spock ever asked her out (they're like together in the movie), because he isn't supposed to have feelings. i guess Kligons or however you spell them just have to be emotionally constipated. XD [edit: oh, fuck. Spock's a Vulcan, not a Klignon. well, that shows how much i know about Star Trek...]

that's all for now. live long and prosper, guys.

Et tu, Brute?

today Sicoro presented his MM project about blood, and i realized that everyone doing blood has that one scene from Rome when Caesar's getting stabbed. dude, lemme tell you something. i like seriously cried the first time i saw that scene on TV. and i NEVER cry when watching ANYTHING, so you know it must have been sad. ROME = DOPEST TV SHOW EVER. everyone on this show is a freaking beast. seriously.

beasty, i tell you. beasty.

i like the part when Casca or whoever tries stabbing Caesar, and Caesar blocks the knife by grabbing it by the blade end. that, for one, is hella beasty. why'd he have to die? he was my favorite character. stupid history.

people wonder, though, why that scene doesn't end with him saying 'Et tu, Brute' like he does in Shakespeare. well, i figured that chilling, dramatic last words are usually made up by later historians/writers to make the people they're writing about look hella sick. in other words: Shakeyspeare probably pulled it out of his ass.

in truth, i think it was more likely that Caesar's last words were 'FUCK YOU, BITCH, YOU AIN'T MY FRIEND NO MO' or something similar. haha. i probably would have put that on my powerpoint if profanity wasn't prohibited in class.

Caesar, right before his death.

enough of that. yeah, i presented my MM project too, and people thought it was funny.
you know, according to Ms. Hill, we aren't supposed to say 'anyways' because it's not proper Engrish. it's supposed to be 'anyway' if we're just referring to one 'way.' wtf. anyway? NO, Ms. Hill. just...no.

she thought i was an eloquent speaker. i'm not sure if that's the word. i just talk a lot. i'm not sure if i want compliments from Ms. Hill anyway(s).

Bree + Karl = BRARL.

will explain more about the title later.

English: watched multimedia presentations. FINALLY got my symbol essay back. it took her three weeks to tell me to put the page number after i cite something. she chatises us for getting behind on our multimedia presentations. Ms. Hill, whose fault is that? you're the one talking about reference lists for the whole damn period. sheesh. AND we got her next year too. great.

Yazz: played Black Orpheus. i actually kinda got it. my sax's tone sounds great, i don't know what's wrong with it. too bad i might not even be in jazz band next year because of Ms. Hill and those auditions Smith was talking about. whatever, i'm gonna audition anyways. XD

Humanities: Garrison's speech pissed me off to no end. i hate how he assumes that we're all stupid and stuff. thinks we can't write. i should show him my Hill essay. one day, i'm gonna grow up and get a job, then come back to Garrison's class and be like, "Hey! I make more money than you now, sucka!" it was funny because here Garrison is, talking about being mature and stuff, and Nikko's off to the side drawing a giant penis on his laptop. nice Nikko. >.>

Math: man, nothing ever blog-worthy happens here. bye bye.

Science: we had a black man as the sub. he was very nice because he didn't do anything. :D
Samantha (SD) made fun of people, like how Mariko's nostrils flare up when she laughs. stuff like that. i did my work. ha! it was great.

Filipino: Manansala got mad at the same people again; tried to teach us stuff. pretty much what happens every day. i just realized that i have like NO agendas or praktis-es for this whole quarter. whatever, i'll make up for it with all my Terrific stamps. it's hella funny because sometimes he'll assign 400 word Journals that will be worth two stamps, then turn around and assign a hella easy conjugation worksheet for five stamps. what the flipping fuck, Manansala. what the flipping fuck.

Desperate Housewives: hella forgot that the season finale was for two hours! i was so happy. HAHAHA. here's what happened:
Carlos and Gaby take in some slutty teenager with no home,
Orson busts Bree for stealing his crap and blackmails her into not divorcing him,
Lynette is pregnant (with twins AGAIN. STOP HAVING BABIES!), and wishes she had cancer instead,
Tom wants to go back to college and study Chinese (wtf),
Dave plans to kill MJ on the fishing trip, but fails and ends up in a crazy people hospital,
Mike marries someone, but we don't get to know who until next season (i think it's that damn idiot Susan again), but the most important part was....

BREE AND KARL! randomnest couple EVER. but i like the idea. Karl should totally get one of his Mafia friends on Orson the Fruitcake, or, better yet, beat him up himself. i hate Orson. HAHA. hella looking forward to where this storyline's gonna go. HILARIOUS.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

so Springstowne won cities today.

i feel so proud! haha. that's ten, count 'em, ten years in a row! WHOO. got to see Springstowne people, Bethel/Hogan people, handed out medals.
and, of course, say hi to Trave, Guiducci, and McNally. and their children!
freaking Gaby is so big now! she walks! the first thing i said to Mr. Trave upon seeing her was, "Whoa, SHE HAS LEGS NOW!" Highlight of the Day right there.

seriously, she was like a newborn when i was in the eighth grade. where does the time go? HAHA.

here's how the day went.

English: Kim sang a wonderful rendition of I'm Yours for minutes, accompanied by Arielle and Justin on their ukeleles. THEN Ms. Hill, the devil she is, comes up to Kim and decides to teach her how to hula dance. you know, 'cause there were ukeleles and stuff, which automatically makes everything Hawaiian.
Ms. Hill: "Kim! You gotta move your hips! C'mon!"
Steven: "I think this is sexual harassment!"
yeah, we basically did nothing today. it was a good day.

Yazz: Concert week! whoo. Walang Rizza, so me and Hannah were basically like the only flutes. Smish liked the balance, though.
"Hm, I should have two flutes more often. Ha ha ha."

Humanities: hella studied for the test. then it comes along, and, lo and behold, there are questions on it that i don't know! wtf?! Hill tests, are, in a sense, easier than Garrison tests because Garrison throws all this random, nitpicky-ass fill-in-the-blank stuff that often has more than one correct answer.
oh, and the answer to that one question better be "Hercules," not "Antioch." come on now. it makes sense! Hercules is within 30 miles of Vallejo. it seems to be named after Herculaneum, which is a cultural center that rivaled Pergammon. so how can it be wrong?

Math: fell asleep, but woke up in time to...uh...go back to sleep. we just did parabolas today, i know that crap. it's okay. snore.

Science: picked frog dissection groups. i'm with Samantha (aka SD, HAHA) and Hannah. probably gonna blog about how it went tomorrow! hooray for cutting open animals!

Filipino: attempt at teaching us actual language-related things today. not that we really learned much. XP Steven: "I'm smarter HIGH than he is straight!" Me: "I'm smarter ASLEEP than he is...period."

Flectionals (flute sectionals): worked on Boys and Satiric III, like we've been doing the whole week. we hella slow down on Boys and rush on Satiric. i can feel it. hopefully we can get our internal metronomes all worked out before Saturday.

by the time we got around to Satiric II, Salancy had left early, still walang Rizza, and Kevin ditched us to practice pic for 'that one Sousa march' in the storage room. (good luck, btw. i hope you made it to whatever you were auditioning for!) so yeah, i was the only first flute left. Smish said he liked my solos, though(!) and wanted to work with me on flute-related things (tone development? FUTURE SOLOS? who knows?) in the coming weeks. :D Highlight of the Day #2 right there.

well, that was my day. how's yours?

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

that's some dope songwriting, though.

He said, 'Son, why you got to sing that tune?'
Catch a Dylan song or an eclipse of the moon
Let an angel sing and make you swoon
Then you will see...you will see

Then he said:
'Here's a riddle for you,
Find the answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I.'

- The Riddle, Five for Fighting

-----

So tell the martyrs to wait at the gate
This is an actual case of the truth, at least,
That's what they call it these days.
So tell your brothers and sisters to wait
'Cause love is nothing to waste, and I swore
Never your heart shall I break.

- Sugar Skulls, Envy on the Coast

-----

My life flows on in endless song
Above Earth's lamentations
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
That hails a new creation.

No storm can shake my inmost calm
While to that rock I'm clinging
Since love is lord of heaven and Earth
How can I keep from singing?

- How Can I Keep From Singing, Enya / Libera

-----

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
The Roman Cavalry Choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
And for some reason I can't explain
I know Saint Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world.

- Viva la Vida, Coldplay

-----

I've grown accustomed to the tune
You whistle night and noon
Your smiles, your frowns
Your ups, your downs
Are second nature to me now
Like breathing out and breathing in

I was serenely independent and content
Before we met
And surely I can always be that way again
And yet
I've grown accustomed to your looks
Accustomed to your voice
Accustomed to your face.

- Accustomed to Your Face, Rex Harrison / Dean Martin / Nat King Cole / hella people

you know what i've noticed? when i'm wearing my iPod earphones, half the time i'm not even listening to anything. XD so people ask me what i'm listening to, and i say, "uh...nothing."
then they look at me, in this odd manner that makes me want to turn on my iPod for the sake of being able to tell them something.

but then again, i like to think that i shall one day exist outside the socially accepted norms of today's society, and, therefore, people's expectations for me will be completely different from their expectations of the rest of the population. in other words: one day, i'm gonna be SPECIAL. :D

Housewives, walang saxophone, and SWINE FLU. (long blog)

EDIT EDIT: it's Cassi, not Cassie. thank you Samantha M. i'm just on a roll with spelling names wrong, aren't i?

EDIT: MYLES and Rhea started going out on Tuesday, not Monday. sorry Mr. Myles, i spelled your name wrong in the blog. nevertheless, i still continue to be like wtf.

haven't posted in a while due to CST testing and general laziness. but this week was quite interesting.

Sunday - watched Desperate Housewives with Steven over AIM.
this is all you need to know about what happened:
Orson = fruitcake.
Mike = finna get killed by weird guy Dave.
Gaby = gardening club, but with less gardening and more martinis.
Tom = Gaby's friend with a small f.
Lynette = Gaby's Friend with a big F.
Susan = freaking IDIOT. HAHA. cooking spaghettii without a lid on the pot. AND THEN she drives home with a basketful of weapons in her car, and gets arrested. HELLA STUPID.

[i hope Mike dies. muahahahaha. i hate Mike.]

Monday - science test. it was actually kinda okay. Ms. Hill was being nice to us for some odd reason. found out that Rhea and Miles were going out. i was like wtf.
i decided it would be a good idea to send Smith the quotes on my myspace blog via email. he loled. i hope. o_o

so like, jazz band today was hella bad 'cause i didn't have my sax (it's getting its cork fixed). and then i am informed that Chris and Cassie will be switching off on Manteca and Copycat, and they need a second alto for Day by Day. Jeycy didn't want to do it,
which means...

IF MY SAX HADN'T BEEN IN THE SHOP, I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN JAZZ BAND FOR COMP ON SATURDAY. FREAKING BS. ARGGGGHHHH. <---most frustrating moment of the week right there. in the end, Cassie got Day by Day, which is cool 'cause she's really good. but i'm still like ARGH.

Tuesday - history test. aced that shit. EPIC WIN, I LOVE FRANCE. Ms. Hill seems to be getting on Samantha's case because apparently she forgot to stop at the end of part 1 or whatever.
"And when you see the stop sign at the bottom of the paper, SAMANTHA, that means to STOP."
...she did that like every day.

i didn't have to go to jazz band that day, which is good 'cause i hate sitting there without a sax knowing i could have played. >.> besides, playing flute and transposing Eflat stuff into C sucks.

Wednesday - life sciences, which was like basically the same thing as the stuff on Monday, but easier. we sang "Happy Birthday" to Ms. Hill when she walked into the classroom. HAHA.

Ms. Hill opens door. everyone starts clapping.
Everybody (singing): "Happy happy birthday, from all of us to you, we wish it was our birthday, so we could party too!"
Ms. Hill and everybody: "HEY!"
Ms. Hill: "Ha ha, I bet you didn't think i was going to come in on the 'hey,' did you? Now, whose birthday is it?"
Everybody: "IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY! YAAAY!"
everyone claps some more.
Ms. Hill is like wtf because she basically just sang Happy Birthday to herself. sucka.

end of testing; no jazz band again today. hooray!

Thursday - today i was getting desperate because i thought that the Hawaiian dinner tickets were due Friday. i started soliciting to Manansala and Ms. Marte. Ms. Marte was like wtf, and Manansala was like "I have to wait for my salary."

most of my teachers made some reference or other to the recent swine flu outbreak.

Smish: "IT'S JUST THE FLU. Jeez."

that guy who was subbing for Garrison: "I think the media is just overreacting."
(btw, he totally looked like an older version of Orson from Desperate Housewives. minus the fruity lavender cardigan, of course. HAHA.)

Marte: "You will be quizzed on this tomorrow!"

Manansala: "I don't believe in this...swine flu."
(whatever, Manansala. i don't believe in you. suckaaa.)

oh yeah, and today Manansala made us start on this hella long assignment to describe 141 different nouns in his damn alphabet book. this is all just 'cause he doesn't have enough assignments to send out progress reports. now, Mr. Manansala, whose fault is that?! making us work extra hard to make up for YOUR slacking.

Friday - almost got an unexcused tardy for Hill's (thanks in part to BAND and Ms. Marte's potluck), but i didn't due to an unusual turn of events. THANK GOD. Ms. Hill was being freaking nice today the whole week. like, she practically gave us the answers on Animal Farm test B. i hate it when she does stuff like that, because then i almost like being in her class. and i'm sure Munir agrees with me. wtf.

okay, so, i tried transposing in band yesterday, and was fairly successful. but today i gave up and played flute with Jeycy in the back room.

in Marte, we had a pretty good potluck, except for the fact that SOME PEOPLE (cough Danilo and Samantha cough) forgot to bring their drinks. and we started watching this National Geographic movie that showed what happened to food when you swallowed it. pretty disgusting.
Munir: "Wtf is that?! Is that in your throat? It looks like a jellyfish!"
Samantha's running commentary on the movie was HILARIOUS, btw.

in Filipino, me, Steven, and Maricris attempted part two of the Manansala project. UNSUCCESSFUL. that man is ridiculous.

and that was pretty much my week. i know i missed hella stuff, but i can't remember right now. so just tell me or whatever and i'll post it up here. band comp tomorrow @ San Jose! so if you don't have anything else to do...show up! HAHA.

Dixon. part 2 of 2: six reasons why Hometown Buffet hates the Jesse Bethel Jaguar Band.

it's a tradition for the band to go to Hometown Buffet post-comp once a year. here's why they hate us.

1. we eat too much.
2. we are loud and obnoxious and messy.
3. there are too many of us.
4. the majority of us pays in cash.
5. another one of our traditions involves clapping and cheering as soon as Smish takes his first bite. can you picture that? you have this 110-person MOB bumrushing their way into a restuarant, and once they have their food and have settled themselves into their seats, they then suddenly burst into hella loud applause for no apparent reason. dude, if i was one of the regular customers, i'd be pissed. and confused. "WHY ARE THEY CLAPPING?"

6. two words: JEYCY DIAZ.

it all started when i 'accidentally' spilled my drink on Munir.
then all hell broke loose.

by 'all hell,' i mean 'Jeycy started laughing and WOULDN'T FUCKING SHUT UP for the next half hour.' omfg. it was ridiculous. there were a few instances where she would almost calm down, but then FREAKING RHEA had to hit her head on the table like some kinda clumsy little goober, which made Jeycy laugh even harder. and louder.

people started to stare. TC, in an attempt to make Jeycy shut up, pointed to a guy in a Norman Rockwell painting on the wall and said, "Jeycy, look at this guy! Look how sad he is! Doesn't this make you sad?" Jeycy said, "HE LOOKS HIGH!" and resumed laughing.

Emma was up next. she was going to perform a magic trick to scare Jeycy into silence. hiding a little half and half container in her fist, she covered her eye and pretended to stab it with a fork. as her fork punctured the little half and half packet thing, the white liquid would spill out, looking like (as Smith put it) "eye pus." unfortunately, it was hilarious. so it didn't work. TC took a video of it; maybe he'll put it on youtube one day.

and to top it all off, the damn light above our table was making everybody hella hot. everybody was hella red and flushed, especially Munir, who resembled a doll with his little red cheeks. HAHA. yeah, uh, i don't really remember what made Jeycy stop laughing, but she did. thank God. and then we went home. yay.

the quote of the day was from Emma the Magician. "Hey, Mr. Smith, my eye itches. Can I have a fork?"

Dixon. part 1 of 2: an Epic Win and an Epic Fail.

hello all. well, yesterday the band had our first spring comp, and we like totally kicked ass (except for sightreading). here is a recap, including an explantion of this blog's title.

we arrived at Dixon HS at about 11:30. the school was freaking DESERTED. nobody there. Smish told us to be dressed and warming up in twenty minutes, so we did that.
performed at 1:00. it was beautiful. really nice blend and balance, flutes were in tune (!), hooray for Ashlyn and Deidre's solos. we went out of the theater feeling oh so good about ourselves. concert = EPIC WIN.

then we went off to do the sightreading part of the competition. i thought the sightreading judge dude was a jerk. he made fun of Smish, so i was like, "Hey, Mr. Smith, you should fight him!"
well, we did hella bad on sightreading. there was this whole section that the flutes EVERYBODY got lost on. we didn't even manage to hit the last note! props to Smish for trying to keep us together, though. he's a trooper. if i was him, i would have burst into tears by the second page. seriously.
sightreading = EPIC FAIL.

last but not least was jazz. Jeycy and i were watching them this time, but maybe we'll be playing with them next year. beautiful, but i thought the Day by Day sax soli was a little dirty. next time guys, next time. solos were really nice. go Caesare and Ben and Jesson and Rizza! jazz = another epic win. except for that soli. haha.

see what happened following the concert on part 2! whoohoo!

today i drove a car.

had my first Driver's Training today; 2nd and 3rd sessions are tomorrow and Thursday. tomorrow's gonna be hella busy 'cause it's sectionals after school, then Driver's Training all over the place, then back to school for jazz band @ the Open House. nyaahhh.

stuff of note:

-Hill: i freaking forgot all about the fact that i was presenting minutes today, until right after the bell rang. HAHA. i was writting it down in such a hurry that i put the wrong date on them. whooops.
well, we finally started watching Animal Farm. Mariko was appalled at how ugly Old Major was. lol. i love the animals' British accents, especially Boxer and Pincher. those Cockneys. hahaha.

-played Jeopardy sorta in Garrison's class. DIDN'T KNOW HALF THE STUFF ON THERE. and i pronounced Goethe's name wrong. Garrison was pronouncing it like "GERT-THETH," or something, and i'm like, "Where the fuck did you get the 'R' and the 'T' from?"

-voted for certain people at lunch. yaaaahh.

-failed failed FAILED the Miller quiz due to some stupid mistakes. dammit. yeah, i don't wanna retake it because the last thing i need following a disastrous episode in math class is MORE MATH. i don't like math, have you noticed?

-Manansala seat change today. like Steven said, now we have a little 'network going on.' XD
-after school, i went and showed my concert clothes to Smish. he eyed my concert top suspiciously. then he was like, "Isn't that a little short to be wearing when you're in the front row?" like some kinda overprotective father. and then i showed him the concert pants and he was like, ^.^'

"Oh, just kidding. You're in."

and then...THEN I WENT DRIVING! i first practiced with my dad in Wayside's parking lot, then went off to Seafood City and American Canyon with Barbara the driving instructor. dude, it's hella fun. i was hella speeding in residential areas, though. hopefully i don't end up killing anyone, God forbid. okay, i gotta do homework now. bye
